Three more police personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office tested positive for Covid, bringing to 27 the number of NOCPPO police officers infected with the virus, the PNP Health Service reported yesterday.

It added that two other police personnel assigned in NOCPPO and the Bacolod City Police Office had recovered from the infection, as of yesterday.

There are only five remaining BCPO personnel positive for Covid-19, from its peak of more than 70 last month.

NOCPPO remains with the most number of infected personnel at 27, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 16, PRO6 regional headquarters and Antique PPO – 13 each, Guimaras PPO and Iloilo City Police Office – two each, and the Capiz PPO, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and the National Support Units – one each, bringing to 84 the number of police officers all over Western Visayas, who have contracted the virus.

Of the 662 confirmed cases, 577 have already recovered, and two have died.

The PNP Health Service also reported that 338 of the 13,581 police personnel assigned in Western Visayas and 30 others at the Regional Support Units, have been vaccinated.*
