Covid hits 16 more cops

Sixteen more police personnel assigned in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental have been added to the list of the PNP members in Western Visayas infected with Covid-19, on May 2, the PNP Health Service reported.

Of the 16, nine are assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office and seven at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, the report added.

This brought to 120 the number of police personnel in Region 6 infected with the virus, with 101 under quarantine in the different isolation and healing facilities all over Western Visayas.

A week ago, there were only 54 active cases in the PNP all over the region.

Based on the records of the PNP Health Service, the BCPO topped the list among provincial and city police offices in Region 6 with the most number of active cases at 59, followed by NOCPPO – 35, Police Regional Office 6 headquarters – 17, Antique and Capiz PPOs – 3 each, Aklan PPO – 2, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion – 1.

ZERO CASES

The Iloilo City Police Office, the Guimaras and Iloilo PPOs, and the National Support Units have zero active cases.

The PNP logged 454 confirmed cases among its personnel in Western Visayas, with 349 recoveries and two deaths.*
