The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital will limit admission of Covid patients once its Covid bed capacity becomes full, its chief, Dr. Julius Drilon, announced Saturday.

Drilon said other potential patients may consider availing of the services of other hospitals in Negros Occidental.

He said they have observed recently an increasing positivity rate in detecting Covid-19 cases among Bacolodnons.

The range of positivity rate was between 32.7 to 42.2 percent, CLMMRH records show.

With this, Drilon said, the hospital has been accepting Covid patients increasingly in the past few days, triggering a huge impact on its bed capacity.

The hospital beds for Covid patients were already 93 percent utilized, and six of seven ICU beds dedicated to individuals infected with the virus are also in use, Drilon said.

The Covid beds at the Emergency Department of the CLMMRH are also nearly full, he said.

Drilon added that the Covid situation has, so far, affected the hospital’s human resource for health and other services.

The CLMMRH will observe stricter implementation of hospital policies and protocols.

Drilon said this is to ensure adherence and compliance by the public, who are also advised to observe strict precautionary measures to avoid getting infected.*
