The Dumaguete City Health Office received about 1,000 Rapid 2019-NCOV test kits recently, that were procured by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to replenish the dwindling stocks of the city’s medical technologists to manage the Covid-19 pandemic.

The test can be administered on Persons Under Monitoring and even health workers, to determine a need for quarantine.

The rapid diagnostic test kits are limited, according to the order of priority protocol issued by the Department of Health.

The first priority are patients, including medical professionals and health workers who exhibit severe to critical symptoms of Covid-19 with known travel history or contact with a positive patient.

The second priority includes medical professionals and healthcare workers with mild symptoms and known exposure to a positive patient; patients with mild symptoms of Covid-19 classified as Persons Under Investigation, who are known to be high risk with pre-existing medical condition and/or a member of the vulnerable group, with known travel history or contact with a positive patient.

The third priority will be medical professionals and health workers with no symptoms but with known exposure to a positive patient, and asymptomatic patients with known travel history or contact with a positive patient.*
