A family with more than four decades of experience in the automotive industry has pioneered a steering change in Bacolod City, with the distributorship launching yesterday of a brand that means “Lasting Safety”, even amid the pandemic.
Mae Ann Gochangco, dealer principal of Changan Bacolod, said their background in the automotive industry began with her father and mentor, Tony Ang, in 1976 up to the present.
Ang established Nissan, Hyundai, and Suzuki in Iloilo City, and with the help of his children, expanded to Hyundai trucks and buses, Chery, Foton, and Changan for both Western Visayas and Negros Occidental, she added.
“This gives us 45 years of experience in the industry, which makes us confident that we are ready to change the future of local mobility with our first offerings that powerfully bring together intelligent driving, trend-setting vehicle designs, extensive safety features, and outstanding engine performance,” Gochangco said.
These offerings include the highly saleable Alsvin sedan, the compact SUV CS35 Plus, CS75 Plus, the seven-seater SUV CS95, and the EADO EV460, Changan’s newest fully-electric vehicle that boasts of a performance to match any other global EV brand, she said.
Changan Motor Philippines, the official distributor of Changan in the country, was officially launched in November last year amid the coronavirus disease 2019 that caused many businesses to collapse.
But Gochangco said they are very optimistic even with the pandemic since interest in the products is there.
TEST DRIVE
To drum up awareness, Changan Bacolod held a test drive tour at its showroom at corner 13th-Hilado Street in Bacolod City with the bankers’ group yesterday, and another one for clients today, sales executive Sherymede Alivio said.
