Barangay insurance benefits, worth P830,000, were released to beneficiaries from the different districts of Negros Occidental by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City recently.
The checks were received by the families of tanods, barangays captains, kagawads, and barangay employees, insured under the provincial government’s Barangay Insurance Program for Barangay Tanods and Barangay Officials and Employees, a press release from the Capitol said.
Lacson expressed his condolences to the families, and said he hopes it could help them ease some financial burden.
He also advised them to continue practicing health and safety protocols in their communities in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The insurance program is under the Special Programs and Concerns Division, headed by Engineer Jose Maria Amugod. Lacson, Diaz, and Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees president, Renelo Lastierre, also led the distribution of funeral assistance, worth P30,000 each, to 36 Capitol employee-beneficiaries recently, the press release added.*
