The long wait is finally over.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed yesterday that the provincial government of Negros Occidental is giving P40,000 extra bonuses to its more than 3,000 employees.
The amount includes P25,000 as Incentive Benefit for Exemplary Services (IBES), P10,000 in Collective Negotiation Agreement incentive, and P5,000 as Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI).
The P5,000 PEI was released yesterday by the provincial government to its employees, with the CNA and IBES expected to be distributed on Tuesday, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said earlier.
Renelo Lastierre, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Workers, thanked Lacson, Vice-Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, and members of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan for sharing the blessings to Capitol employees.
“We are lucky to receive bonuses despite the pandemic,” Lastierre said.
Entitled to receive the IBES, CAN, and PEI are regular and casual employees of the provincial government, Diaz said.
Lastierre described the giving of extra bonuses as a way of rewarding the efforts of workers and their sacrifices amid the pandemic.
He added that the employees are committed to continuously support and be the instruments of the provincial government in delivering public service. Last year, Capitol employees received P60,000 in extra bonus each.*
