BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The provincial government of Negros Occidental strongly debunked allegations circulating on social media that it delivered expired Covid-19 vaccines to local government units in the province.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday that the vaccines are delivered to LGUs within five days of their arrival to the province.

“Deliveries are based on the uploaded list from the Department of Health as submitted by the LGU that is limited to what they use for the day,” Diaz added.

He said that waste materials are also collected at the end of each day of the vaccine rollout.

Those who reached 100 percent utilization may receive additional vaccines the following day, Diaz said, and added that rumors and fake news should be ignored.

“We should focus on our vaccine rollout to reach more Negrenses,” he said, adding, “As long as the DOH sends the vaccines, we will deliver.”*
