Calatrava, LSIs from Cebu coronavirus topnotchers

Negros Occidental has 272 COVID-19 positive cases, the majority of whom are locally stranded individuals from Cebu, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported yesterday.

But the four new COVID positive cases in Negros Occidental yesterday were all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

They are a 33-year-old male EB Magalona resident, who returned from Amsterdam, a 27-year-old female Toboso resident from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a 27-year-old male Victorias City resident from Bahrain who are confined at the Cadiz District Hospital, and a 32-year-old female Himamaylan resident from Brunei who is asymptomatic and quarantined at the EB Magalona Healing Center, Diaz said.

Of the 272 COVID-19 positive cases in the province, Calatrava has the most number of COVID-19 cases at 22, followed by Sagay City with 19, Himamaylan – 18, Escalante City -17, Bago City -16, San Carlos City -16, Talisay City – 14, Cadiz City -13, Hinoba-an – 12, La Castellana – 11, Silay City -11, Binalbagan – 10;

Cauayan -10, Sipalay City – 9, Murcia – 8, Victorias – 8, La Carlota City – 7, EB Magalona – 6, Toboso – 6, Moises Padilla – 4, Pontevedra – 3, San Enrique – 3, Valladolid – 2, Pulupandan – 1, Ilog – 1, Candoni – 1, and Salvador Benedicto -1, the PHO reported.

Of the positive cases the LSIs were 192, overseas Filipino workers – 43, domestic cases – 20, frontliners – 10, Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) – 3, imported cases – 3, and in other province but tagged to Negros Occidental – 1.

Of the 198 COVID-19 LSIs, 93 came from Cebu, Manila – 75, Cavite – 6, Iloilo – 6, Bohol, Davao, Laguna, Rizal and Zamboanga – 2 each, and Antique, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Capiz, Dumaguete, Guimaras, Palawan and Pampanga – 1 each, the PHO reported.

Of the COVID positive OFWs, the most number came from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – 12, USA – 7, Dubai – 3; Abu Dhabi, Brazil, Hong Kong, Qatar, United Kingdom, and Netherlands – 2 each, and Barbados, China, Ireland, Japan, Kuwait, Brunei, Bahrain, Oman, Scotland and Singapore – 1 each, the PHO added.

Ten more COVID-19 positive patients in Negros Occidental have recovered, the Department of Health said yesterday.*
