Liga Ng Mga Barangay president, Councilor Lady Gles Gonzales-Pallen, yesterday said she appealed to Mayor Evelio Leonardia to postpone the implementation new Home Quarantine Pass system in Bacolod City to Sunday because the barangay captains had not completed the distribution of the HQPs .

While they earlier assured the mayor that they were ready to implement the HQP system yesterday, Pallen said they were not able to finish distributing the passes sincethe barangay captains were called to attend to several pressing issues.

In the middle of the distribution of the HQPs, they were asked to attend to the payout of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) grants to their constituents, Pallen said.

“In addition to that, some of the barangay officials and staff participated in the mass testing for COVID-19 on August 28 to 29,” she added

As of Wednesday, they had hit just 80 percent of their target HQP recipients, Pallen said.

Meanwhile, Visayas Inter-Agency Task Force deputy chief implementer Maj. Gen. Mel Feliciano led a centralized meeting of Emergency Operations Center at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday to synchronize all committee operations to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City Health Office has provided its hotline numbers so it can be contacted by people who have been in contact with, are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19.

The COVID hotlines are: 0916-319-8925, 0951-874-7248; and 0922-762-7882, while the CHO numbers are 707-1329 and 431-3673.*
