The Bureau of Customs has surpassed its July 2021 collection target after posting P4.432 billion surplus, or 8.2 percent of the month’s goal.
Based on the preliminary report from the BOC-Financial Service released yesterday, the bureau has collected P58.183 billion against its P53.751 billion target last month.
The surplus in the revenue was recorded after 14 of the 17 collection districts hit their collection targets, including the ports of San Fernando, Manila, NAIA, Batangas, Legaspi, Tacloban, Surigao, Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparri, and Limay.
From January to July 2021, the BOC collected P359.9 billion, P14.3 billion higher than its P345.58 billion collection target.
The bureau attributed the positive performance to the intensified collective efforts of all ports this year, as well as the improvement of the volume of importation while maintaining border security and trade facilitation.
BOC commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero commended the efforts of the front-liners and employees who, despite the risk to their health and safety amid threat Delta variant, showed their unwavering commitment and dedication to service.*PNA
