Police personnel manning border and quarantine control points in Negros and Panay were reminded to be polite and courteous at all times, especially in dealing with women and senior citizens.

Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director of Western Visayas, yesterday reminded police personnel to strictly adhere to the provisions of the PNP Ethical Standards while discharging police functions.

“Anyone who shows arrogance and disrespect will be dealt with accordingly,” Pamuspusan said, stressing that PRO6 will not tolerate any misbehavior and disrespect of police officer amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also warned immediate commanders that they will be directly held liable for failure of supervision if their subordinates publicly misbehave and show disrespect.

At the same time, Pamuspusan encouraged Western Visayas residents to report discourteous and arrogant police personnel to the nearest police station, or text to Police Hotlines under PRO6 or text RD’s Hotline (09989673651).*
