Some 816 gadgets were distributed by the city government to the Bacolod City National High School to aid students and teachers with online classes.
Joey Ian Singson, head of the Science Department of the BCNHS, said the recipients of the gadgets are junior high school students under the Science and Technology Engineering classes and Senior High school taking up the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand.
Of the 816 gadgets, 778 were tablets distributed to the students while the rest were laptop computers for the teachers, Singson said.
He said that the distribution of the gadgets was made possible through project Tablets for Advance Batches.
Singson also said that the city government is set to provide a quarterly communication allowance for the students who received the tablets.
Allan Pomada, BCNHS principal, said they are grateful to the city government for helping them realize the project TAB. Pomada said this will ensure continuity of learning amid the pandemic, adding that, BCNHS will continue to provide quality education to Bacolodnon and Negrense students.*
