A Regional Trial Court judge sentenced a Bacolod resident to life imprisonment on two counts for the sale and possession of illegal drugs and ordered him to pay a fine of P1 million, yesterday.
Bacolod RTC Branch 52 Judge Raymond Joseph Javier found Jamil Equibal Recaido, alias Jame, guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the sale of illegal drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and sentenced him to life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P500,000.
Recaidao was also sentenced to life imprisonment for possession of 9.148 grams and ordered to pay another fine of P500,000.
Recaido sold .0409 gram shabu to police poseur-buyer PO3 Ervin Gamay who pretended to be a call center agent at on Nov. 6, 2019 for P500 at his house in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod and 9.148 additional grams were recovered from him on his arrest.
Also arrested in the drug bust was Ronell Cawaling Dumali who was at the house of Recaido during the drug bust and had in his possession .5692 gram of shabu.
His companion Dumali was also found guilty of possession of shabu and was sentenced imprisonment of 12 years eight months as minimum to 17 years eight months as maximum and to pay a fine of P300,000.
Dumali was also found guilty of possession of dangerous drugs paraphernalia and sentenced to suffer a prison term of two years seven months as minimum, to four years as maximum and to pay a fine of P10,000.
The judge also ordered the warden of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Metro District Jail at Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City to immediately transfer Recaido and Dumali to the national Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City for the service of their sentence.*
