Bacolod City received an additional 7,800 doses of China-made Sinovac vaccine yesterday that were brought to the cold room facility of the City at the Bacolod Government Center.
Bacolod has received 39,800 doses of Sinovac vaccine in June, with 10,000 doses delivered on June 5, 7,000 doses on June 8, and 15,000 doses on June 23.
Since March, Bacolod has received a total of 83,540 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government.
As of June 24, the Covid-19 Vaccination Council, chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, has administered a total of 58,339 Sinovac and AstraZeneca doses to Bacolod residents.
POSITIVITY RATE DOWN
The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, meanwhile, reported a decrease in the Covid positivity rate in Bacolod.
Based on its records from June 21 to 27, the positivity rate was only at 28 percent or three in every 10 individuals swabbed tested positive for the disease.
This was far lower compared to the 33.52 percent positivity rate earlier recorded by CESU from June 14 to 18.
Despite the reduction in the positivity rate, CESU also noted that the submission of the collected specimen has also decreased.
Meanwhile, the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital announced that the 4th floor of the West Tower is already usable.
In an advisory, the CLMMRH said that this progress will allow the hospital to accommodate more Covid-19 patients since more non-intensified care unit beds are now available.
The hospital management reminded the public that its emergency room is strictly following the proper coordination of patients’ transfer.
