Bacolod City is bracing for the influx of locally stranded individuals who will return home for the holidays.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, who is in charge of the returning LSIs, said swab tests and 14-day quarantine are still required for returning residents coming from outside Region 6.
The LSIs are also required to email copies of their medical certificates issued by the local government units where they came from to firstname.lastname@example.org before their arrival, Rojas said.
She added that the LSIs also need to email copies of their identification cards with address in Bacolod or Certificate of Residency from the barangay where they reside in the city, and travel authority from the Philippine National Police before their scheduled trip.
Once these documents are emailed, the returning LSIs will receive notices of coordination from the office of Rojas through their emails.
Rojas said that upon arrival in Bacolod, the city’s bus will pick the returnees up from the bus terminal, seaport or airport and take them to a facility for a free swab test.
After the swab, the LSIs could choose whether they will be quarantined in a school with free accommodation, or rent a room in a hotel/inn at their own expense, she said.
LSIs who will choose to stay in hotels or inns will be brought by the city bus either to Avenue Suites, Acacia Hotel, or Middletown Inn, the only establishments that accept returning LSIs in Bacolod.
Meanwhile, she said swab results will be released in 3 to 5 days and the LSIs will then be released to finish the remaining quarantine days at home.
Further inquiries may be coursed through 435-3607, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
Returning residents from Cebu may contact Leshi Kojima at 0905-2238081. The travel of Bacolod LSIs within Region 6 is unhampered but they are advised to secure their Bactrac and bring valid IDs.*
