BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The Department of Health is expected to turn over today seven ambulances requested by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya in 2019 during his second term as congressman.

Gasataya said the seven units, worth about P15 million and purchased by the national government, will be distributed to barangays Banago, Handumanan, Cabug, Felisa, Tangub, and Mansilingan.

These barangays have no ambulances and are far from the city proper. The vehicles can be used to serve the constituents of Bacolod, especially during this pandemic, he said.

Gasataya recalled that he had requested for the seven ambulances from the 2019 budget but the release was delayed due to government procurement procedures and also because of the pandemic in 2020.

These units can also be utilized by the city and the City Health Office, he added.*
