Assorted guns, shabu confiscated

A series of police operations on March 23 and 24 in Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of 10 suspects and the recovery of assorted guns and illegal drugs.

Joint operations of the local police, 1st Negros Occidental Police Mobile Force Company and 64th Special Action Force yesterday led to the arrest of Weedy Liboon during a raid at his residence  in Sitio Olamhay III, Brgy. Punta Mesa, Manapla, which was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by  Silay Executive Judge Leonardo Facultad, for alleged violation of RA 10591.

The search operations yielded a Colt 45 caliber pistol with three magazines containing 24 rounds of ammunition, a Smith and Wesson 357 caliber revolver with five ammunition, as well as two homemade shotguns, locally known as sulpak, with nine live ammunition.

The series of buy-bust operations also led to the arrests of nine drug suspects and recovery of suspected shabu in the cities of San Carlos, Silay, Kabankalan, La Carlota as well as in the municipalities of La Castellana and Cauayan on March 23, police said.

Joe Morres Roldan, 21, was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City,which yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, a Yamaha Mio motorcycle, as well as P500 in marked money.

The apprehension of Aldrin Jay Samorteza in another buy-bust operation in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City,also yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu and P1,000 in buy-bust money, police also said.

Four sachets of suspected shabu and P1,000 in buy-bust money were also recovered by the police during the arrest of Roderick Buscado in Purok 6, Brgy. Caliling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Two other drug suspects identified by the police as John Michael Vinson amd Lester Ayco were also apprehended by the police in another buy-bust operation in Purok Masinadyahon, Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City.

The apprehension of the two suspects also yielded 26 sachets of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia, P100 in marked money, as well as P726 in cash.

Two more drug suspects identified by the police as Nathaniel Sendico and Kenbert Sullivan were both arrested, for a similar violation in Sitio  Bucalan, Brgy. RSB, La Carlota City.

Four sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, two cellular phones and a Barako motorcycle were also recovered by the police, as a result of the buy-bust operations.

The arrest of Nonnil Salmorin and Jerome Diaz at Buena Park Subdivision, Brgy. Robles, La Castellana during a buy-bust operation also yielded 0.5 gram of suspected shabu and its assorted paraphernalia, P500 in marked money and P315 in cash.*
