The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division slammed the New People’s Army yesterday after it owned up to the killing of a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental last month.
Maj. Cenon Pancito, 3rd ID spokesperson, said the incident magnified more than ever the terroristic nature of the CPP-NPA.
“The very group that is actively complaining of injustices are the forerunners of extra judicial killings,” Pancito said.
The NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command issued a statement claiming responsibility for the killing of Civilian Active Auxiliary member Mico Dinoy on Jan. 28 in Sitio Mansalahid, Brgy. Luz, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
“How can they claim justice where, in fact, they summarily kill individuals even without the chance to be heard in their kangaroo court?” Pancito asked. He said the Army mourned the death of Dinoy, who volunteered to work with the government to achieve peace in Negros, adding that they will bring the perpetrators to justice.*
