There are now three active Covid-19 cases among members of the police force in Negros Occidental, after a chief master sergeant, who is asymptomatic, was added to the list, provincial police deputy spokesperson, P/Lt. Abegael Donasco, said.
Donasco also said the family members and close contacts of the patient were also placed under isolation.
The colleagues of the policeman at the police station, however, tested negative for Covid, she added.
She also said that no one from Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City had been infected, based on a series of swab tests conducted in the past several weeks.
Of the 41 confirmed cases among PNP personnel, Donasco said that 38 have fully recovered, and some of them even donated plasma for use by Covid patients in serious condition. Donasco reiterated her advice to NOCPPO personnel who are not feeling well, or are experiencing signs of Covid-19, not to report for duty and immediately inform their superiors.*
