The screening of body temperature of arriving passengers at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, in line with the campaign against the spread of Covid-19, got a boost after it received yesterday a thermal scanner from the city government of Silay City in Negros Occidental.

The thermal scanner, worth P940,000, with accessories, was turned over yesterday by Mayor Mark Golez, who was accompanied by Vice Mayor Tom Ledesma, Board Member Ryan Gamboa, and councilors Edwin John Dennis Velez and Lyndon Bernardo, to the Bacolod-Silay Airport management.

Golez said that the device donated to the airport management was among the four body temperature scanners purchased by the city government of Silay, two of which were installed at the dry and wet markets and at City Hall.

It is expected to augment the device provided to the airport by the provincial government of Negros Occidental the previous months.

The screening of arriving passengers at the Bacolod-Silay Airport was tightened following the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Negros Occidental.*
