Eight persons, including four drug personalities in the police watch-list, were arrested and about P220,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a series of buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, Wednesday night.
About P81,600 worth of “shabu”, P1,000 in marked money, and drugs paraphernalia, were recovered from Arman Pabon, alias “Bebe Pabon”, 35, and Mark Gil Vergara, 46, in Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Alijis in Bacolod, at about 8:05 p.m. Wednesday by members of Police Station 7.
Four more persons were collared in a buy-bust operation in Purok Sunrise 1, Barangay Taculing in Bacolod, at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Station 2 operatives arrested Johnel Tordillos, alias “Tata”, 24, Raphy Debide, 31, Ian Villanueva, 31, and Raymond Tupas, 24, with seven sachets of suspected shabu, worth P27,200, P200 in marked money, P480 in cash, a weighing scale, and a cellular phone.
Tordillos, Debide, and Villanueva are in the police watchlist.
Personnel of Station 5 seized P50,000 in “shabu” in a buy-bust operation at the public cemetery in Barangay Granada, Bacolod, at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Arvin John Janayan, 31, of Barangay Taculing, was collared with five sachets of suspected shabu, P300 in marked money, P220 in cash, a cellular phone, and a pouch, police records show.
Station 4 personnel caught Eddie Boy Belibestre, alias “Negro”, 36, at Banana Street, Villa Angela Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod, at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, and recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu, weighing nine grams and worth P61,200, P500 in marked money, and P400 in cash, police records show.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against those arrested.*
