6 suspects nabbed, P78K in shabu seized

The series of anti-drug operations of the police in various cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental Monday and yesterday led to the arrest of six drug suspects and the recovery of suspected shabu, with a market value of P78,120.

An alleged street level individual drug personality, identified by the police as Dante de la Torre, was apprehended yesterday by the police in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Dapdap, Brgy. Lantad, Silay City.

The arrest of dela Torre, 37, yielded seven grams of suspected shabu, worth P47,600, assorted paraphernalia, and P3,000 in buy-bust money, including the P500 in marked money.

Two other drug suspects, identified as Joven Mesias and Paul Robert Ang, were arrested by the police in Bago City and Pulupandan on Monday.

The apprehension of Mesias, 35, in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, with a market value of P2,720, while four sachets of suspected shabu, worth P6,664, and P1,660 in cash were recovered by the police during the arrest of Ang in Brgy. Crossing Pulupandan.

The buy-bust operations of the police in barangays 9 and Binicuil in Kabankalan City, also on Dec. 7, led to the arrest of two more drug suspects, identified as Jonald Vidal and Guillermo Fuentes Jr.

Recovered during the arrest of Vidal, 43, were a gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P6,800, and its paraphernalia, a Samsung cellular phone, P100 in marked money, and P615 in cash.

The Kabankalan police and Drug Enforcement Unit of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office also recovered 1.6 grams of suspected shabu, worth P10,800, and P500 in marked money from Fuentes, a police report said.

Policemen also arrested Eriberto Caballes, alias Sergio, 24, in another buy-bust operation in Purok Mabinuligon, Brgy. Central Tabao, Valladolid.

The apprehension of Caballes yielded 1.6 grams of suspected shabu, worth P10,200, P500 in marked money, and P590 in cash. All suspects are now in jail.*
