The Philippine National Police Health Service reported yesterday that five more police personnel in Western Visayas, including two officers assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, have tested positive for Covid-19.
This brought to 144 the number of Covid active cases involving police personnel and civilian employees assigned in Western Visayas, as of June 20, compared to 128 a week ago.
NOCPPO logged 21 active cases, while the Bacolod City Police Office has still four remaining active cases, compared to its peak of more than 80 in previous months.
The Aklan PPO still remains with the most number of infected personnel at 39, followed by the Iloilo PPO – 30, Antique PPO – 15, Police Regional Office 6 with 14, National Support Units – 8, and Iloilo City PPO – 4, the PNP Health Service said.
Five new cases and four recoveries were reported on June 20, it added.
Of the 840 confirmed cases since last year, the PNP Health Service reported 694 recoveries and two deaths.*
