269 additional cases in NegOcc

The Department of Health 6 reported yesterday that Negros Occidental logged an additional 269 Covid-19 cases, and Bacolod City with 37, as of April 27.

Of the 269 cases, 239 are local transmissions, 23 locally stranded individuals, and seven Authorized Persons Outside Residence.

This brought to 360 the number of active cases in Region 6, with 16 in Antique, 14 in Iloilo City, seven in Aklan, and four in Iloilo province. Guimaras has zero active case, the DOH report said.

Despite the new cases, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported that active infections in Negros Occidental went down further, from 1,941 on April 26 to 1,837 yesterday.

San Carlos City still has the highest number of active cases with 270, followed by Himamaylan City – 137, La Carlota City – 123, Sipalay City – 106, and Bago City – 104.

INFIRMARY CLOSED

The Sipalay City government, meanwhile, issued an advisory on the temporary closure of its infirmary, starting April 26 until further notice, for disinfection and contact tracing.

Consultation will be catered to at the City Health Office, from 8 a.m. to noon only. It added that the CHO will only accommodate emergency cases from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no patient admissions. Emergency cases after 5 p.m. should be brought to the Merceditas Montilla District Hospital.*
