The two persons, who were reported missing since Saturday, have been accounted for, after their bodies were separately discovered in barangays Lopez Jaena and San Miguel, in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
P/Lt. John Paul Tabujara of the Murcia police said the body of Paquito Benedicto, 61, was found yesterday by Ariel Barrientos, at the Asia riverbank in Hacienda Lizares, Brgy. San Miguel.
On Sunday, the body of Ruperto Untal was discovered at the Bago river in Purok Urba, Brgy. Lopez Jaena, Tabujara added.
Initial police investigations showed that the two victims were reported to have been carried away by strong current, while taking care of a carabao at the Bago river.
The carabao was also reported to have drowned.*
