2 killed in stabbing, hacking incidents

A 69-year-old laborer and a farmer both died in separate hacking and stabbing incidents on March 2 and 3, in Binalbagan and Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, with one of the suspect was arrested by the police, while the other one fled, after the two incidents.

Marcelino Lagoras, 69, succumbed to a stab wound, after he was stabbed allegedly by Rodolfo Alingasa, 58, on March 3 at Purok Kawilan in Brgy. Asia, Hinobaan, according to the police.

Old grudges, in connection with the cutting of a Talisay tree owned by the victim, has triggered the stabbing incident, initial investigations of the Hinobaan police showed.

Alingasa, a chainsaw operator, is now detained at the Hinobaan police custodial facility, with a knife used by the suspect was also recovered by the police.

On the other hand, the cadaver of the victim was brought to the Porras Funeral Homes for post mortem examinations., a report of the Hinobaan police said.

Heated arguments also led to the hacking to death of Gelberth Panoy, a 42-year-old farmer, on March 2 in Sitio Bugalo, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, which allegedly perpetrated by a certain Olivert Aliponoso, police also said.

Prior to the incident, the victim and the suspect engaged in a drinking spree.

The cadaver of Panoy, who also succumbed to multiple hack wounds, was brought to a funeral parlor in Isabela town for post mortem examinations. On the other hand, Aliponso remains at-large, as of this time.*
