The Administration and the Mobile Patrol Unit departments of the Bacolod City Police Office were locked down yesterday pending the results of the swab tests of its 37 personnel, who were exposed to a Covid-19 positive patient.

The patient was a police officer from Police Regional Office-6 who was assigned to augment the BCPO, P/Col. Henry Biñas, BCPO director, said yesterday.

The police officer, who is asymptomatic, is now at the quarantine facility in Anilao, Iloilo, Biñas said.

The police officer, who was assigned at the MPU, went to see Biñas Monday in his office at the Administration department of the BCPO to ask for permission to go home to Iloilo to prepare for his wedding.

He was assigned to BCPO last year while waiting for the Basic Internal Security Operation Course schedule for him and his batchmates.

They were deployed to different police offices since they did not have their schedules yet,” Biñas said.

Although there was only exposure and no close contact among the BCPO personnel with the police officer, Biñas said he decided to lock down the offices to ensure the safety of everyone at BCPO.

The 37 BCPO personnel are also onhome quarantine since last week and are being monitored via videocall.

None of them have not shown any symptom of the virus, Biñas said.

He added that so far, none of the more than 600 organic force of BCPO, have not contracted the virus.*
