A graduation ceremony was held Sunday in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, for the 17 graduates of the Community Based Rehabilitation Program for persons who used drugs (PWUDs)
The graduates were from barangays Batuan and Pacol in Valladolid, P/Capt. Joseth Catonina, head of the Valladolid Police Station, said yesterday.
The 17 PWUDs completed the 4-week rehabilitation program funded by the local government of Valladolid, and will be turned over for an after-care monitoring program, Catonina said.
He also said the PWUDs were subjected thrice to drug testing and they yielded negative results.
Members of the PDEA-Negros Occidental Provincial Office congratulated the graduates, Catonina said.
The graduation rites were held Sunday afternoon at the DTI Covered Court in Valladolid with Mayor Enrique Miravalles, Vice Mayor Roel Yogore, Municipal Health Officer Nelson George de la Fuente, Catonina and P/Cpl. Aireen Mondia, focal person of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program present.
Also at the rites were Barangay Batuan captain Sandro Juanites and Brgy. Pacol captain Marcelo Rivera, the PDEA report added.*
