Silay City Mayor Mark Golez shared on his Facebook the contents of the food packs the city government had distributed to the families affected by the lockdown*

A total of 130 households in Silay City that were placed on lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic availed of food packs from the city government, its administrator Jose Edward Davila yesterday said.

The city government of Silay has started to distribute the second tranche of food packs to the affected Silaynon families, the contents of which depend on the number of family members in the household.

For households with 11 or more members, Davila said they will receive 15 kilos of rice, 25 pieces of assorted canned goods, 25 pieces of assorted noodles, three whole chickens, a tray of eggs, one and half dozen each of sachets of coffee and Milo.

Households with six to 10 members are entitled to receive 10 kilos of rice, 20 pieces of canned goods, 20 pieces of assorted noodles, 2 whole of chickens, two dozens of eggs, two dozens of coffee and Milo.

Five kilos of rice, 15 pieces of canned goods, 15 pieces of noodles, whole chicken, a dozen of eggs, one dozen of coffee and Milo for families with five members and below, Davila also said.

Of the 254 Covid-19 cases in Silay City, 136 are still active, and 106 already recovered, with 12 fatalities, as of Sept. 9.
Davila also reported that 209 of 254 cases are local transmissions.

Of the 16 affected barangays of Silay, Brgy. Mambulac has the most number of victims with 74, with 41 active cases.

There are no more active cases in Brgys. Patag and Guimbalaon, which are the known tourist destinations in Silay City.*
